Mary L Asher

Mary L. Asher, 83, beloved wife of Eugene Asher, of Nicholasville passed away Sunday, June 10 at her home. They were married for 68 years. Mary was born to the late John L. and Maggie Black Cory in Knox County, Kentucky. She attended Union College and graduated from the University of Kentucky. Mary was an educator for 27 years, and owner of the Kiddie Cottage Day Care for almost 30 years. Her love and care touched the lives of countless children. Mary was an active member of New Bethel Baptist Church, Barbourville, Edgewood Baptist Church, Nicholasville and Anchor Baptist Church in Lexington. She loved to teach the Bible and sing the hymns of the faith. Mary is survived by a sister, Faye Terrell of Lexington, daughter, Libby with Tom, and granddaughter, Ashlynn Rose Bradshaw. Funeral services will be in Lexington at Anchor Baptist Church on Thursday, June 14. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. with the service to follow at 1 p.m. A second service will be in Barbourville, Kentucky at New Bethel Baptist Church on Friday, June 15. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. with the funeral to follow at noon. Burial will be at the New Bethel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Anchor Baptist Church Capital Stewardship Campaign.
