Mary Dalton Heathman Holbrook

January 4, 1952 — February 8, 2021

Mary Dalton Heathman Holbrook, 69, wife of Dr. Marc L Holbrook, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 8, 2021 at her home in Nicholasville, Kentucky. She was born in Lexington, Kentucky on January 4, 1952 to the late William Edgar Heathman and Ruby Irene Denny Heathman. Mary was a remarkable woman; a most loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and nurse. Even as Mary fought her long battle with cancer, she refused to let it keep her from enjoying and living life to the fullest with her loved ones. Whether traveling on numerous family vacations and cheerleading trips, going sailing with Marc, or simply enjoying days full of fun on their farm with friends and family swimming and horseback riding, Mary never wanted to miss a moment. And she didn't. Those moments are now treasured memories she leaves behind for those she fought to live for and loved the most. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Heath Allen (Jennifer), and J.R. Allen (Tiffany), stepsons, Robert Holbrook, and William Holbrook, and stepdaughter, Carey Marie Holbrook, nine grandchildren, Taylor Spicer, Laura Allen, Kendall Allen, Luke Allen, Ryder Allen, Natalie Allen, Noah Martin, Hannah Holbrook, and Hunter Holbrook, two great grandchildren, Hartlee Gibson and Ryla Spicer and a sister, Billie Sue Heathman. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jennifer Allen. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Friday, February 12, 2021 at Betts & West Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4-8:00 PM, Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Heath Allen, J.R. Allen, Luke Allen, Matt Sandlin, Ben Houp, Terry Farley, Daniel Burnett, Doug Mitchell and Tommy Cobb. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for contributions to be made to one of the following charities in memory of Mary. Online guestbook at www.BettsandWestfuneralhome.com
