Marion Maggard

Marion Maggard, 78, husband of Mary Jane Maggard, died Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Hospice Care Center, Lexington, KY. He was born Tuesday, September 25, 1933 in Perry County to the late Blueford and Sallie Milton Maggard. Marion was a lifelong coal miner, carpenter and rail road worker. He was also a retired employee of Brookside Elementary School. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He is also survived by two daughters, Cheryl Kay (Tim) Maggard and Tina Marie Maggard, three sons, Marion Wayne (Sandy) Maggard, Henry Lee (Jackie) Maggard and David Bidwell, all of Nicholasville, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Henry and Veron Maggard, Grant Melton, John Bedwell and Abner Bidwell, four sisters, Mary, Sara, Louise and Mary. Services will be 1:00pm Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. R.J. Morelli officiating. Burial will be in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
