Loraine Sams Hopkins

Loraine Sams Hopkins, 88, widow of George C. Sams and Zack Hopkins, died October 2, 2013 after a lenghtly illness. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Minnie McIntoch Russell. Loraine was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Earnie (Brenda) Sams , grandchildren, Cindy (Patrick) Atwell, Steven (Shirley) Sams, Angela (Tim) Lowry, Jessie (Gary) Davis and Becky (Aaron) Burge, several great grandchildren, a daughter in law, Nancy Sams, seven step children, Wanda Day, Jean Day, Sue Tuggle, Rosie Saylor, Joan Drury, Johnny Hopkins and Zack Hopkins Jr. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Sams and a grandson, Jason Sams. Services will be 1:00pm Saturday at Lighthouse Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Barnes officiating. Burial will be in the Keene Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8pm today at the church. Bearers will be Steven Sams, Bob Hampton, Manuel Reyes, Tim Lowry, Gary Davis and Aaron Burge. Honorary bearers will be Donnie McCully, Bobby, Kevin and Kenneth Jones.
