Leonard Plyman

June 18, 1929 — July 4, 2023

Leonard Plyman, 94, husband of Rachel Arnold and widower of Patsy Marie Conner Plyman, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was born in Irvine, Kentucky, on June 18, 1929, to the late James Plyman and Minnie Ingram. Leonard was a believer in Christ. He was a veteran of the US Navy and retired from the Blue Grass Army Depot. Survivors include his wife of three years, Rachel Arnold; his five children, Darlene (Stan) Bryan, Sherry (Tom) West, Vicki Fitzgerald, Darrell (Penny) Plyman, and Dwayne (Lisa) Plyman; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Elkins of Naples, and Jerilynn Parrett of Lexington; and brother, James Plyman of Nicholasville. He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Patsy Plyman; as well as seven sisters, and one infant brother. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, July 7, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Chandler officiating. Burial and Military Honors will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, where family will serve as bearers. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service, Friday, at the funeral home. Betts & West is honored to serve Leonard and his family in their time of need.
