Leola Verna Bernhardt

Leola V. Bernhardt, 95, widow of the late Carl H. Bernhardt, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Friday, October 17, 2014. She was born in Scranton, PA, the daughter of the late John Wesley and Edna Ethel Smith Beppler. She left in God's care her children, Wendy (Darryl) Lakes, Wayne (Judy) Bernhardt, Brian S. (DeeDee) Bernhardt, three grandsons, John Lakes, Steven Bernhardt, and Kevin (Danielle) Bernhardt, two granddaughters, Angela (Martin) Henderson and Amanda (Curt) Handley, five great grandchildren, Brittaney and Martina Henderson, Keyona and Tori Handley, and soon to arrive, Alexa Noelle Bernhardt. Services will be 3:30 PM Monday at Betts and West Funeral Home with Rev. Leon Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Family will serve as bearers. Visitation will be from1:30- 3:30 PM at the funeral home. A special thanks to the staff of Council Oaks Assisted Living for their dedication and loving care.
