Kenneth George Owen Sr., 89, widower of Jean Mercer Owen, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018. He was born June 2, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA to the late John Lennon and Alice May Dollscheck Owen. Survived by a daughter, Debbie (Phil) Bentley, a son, Ken (GiGi) Owen Jr., special friend in love, Susan Braden, two grandchildren, Philip Owen (Lindsey) Bentley and Heather Lynn Owen, a great grandchild, Taegen Bentley, a brother, William (Barbara) Owen, and other family members. Ken was a member of the Nicholasville Christian Church, Masonic Heart Lodge, a Free Mason, and Hospice Volunteer. He enjoyed working on Cars, woodworking, having made recognition aircraft models for the Department of Defense during WW II. Service will be 11:00 AM Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Lon Oliver officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Bearers will be Philip Bentley, Ken Owen, Philip Owen Bentley, Terry McFarland, Will McCuddy, and Bob Ball.
