Katherine Baber

Nicholasville- Katherine Lowry Baber, 97, widow of Marion Juett Baber, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013. She was born in Jessamine County to the late William L. and Daisy Chapman Lowry. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Women. Katherine was a former employee of Irving Parachute Factory and Vouge Rattan Co. and was an expert seamstress. She is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Holloway and Ms. Jayn Rose Baber, two sons in law, George C. Goldey and Willard H. Price, fourteen grandchildren, Marlene (Howard) Wireman, Katherine (Harold) Williams, Johnnie (Rhonda) Holloway, Cheryl (Robert) Darnell, Vada Joyce (Charles) Johnson, Darwin (Janice) Holloway, Kevin (Christa) Holloway, Brenda (Michael) Kestel, George M. (Julia) Goldey, Mike K. (Cheri) Goldey, Teresa (Gary) Scott, Karen Sue King, Daryl A. Price and Brian H. Price, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Mrs. George (Doris) Goldey and Mrs. Willard (Sue) Price, one son in law, John M. Holloway, two grandchildren, Gary Goldey and Sherry Goldey, two great grandchildren, David Goldey and Christy Hildebrand, nine brothers and sisters, Eldridge, Maggie, Nellie, Odell, Cornelious, Elzie, Roy, Marie and Lavert. Services will be 2:00pm Monday June 24, 2013 at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Snyder officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-9:00pm Sunday. Bearers will be her grandchildren, Johnnie, Darwin and Kevin Holloway, George M. and Mike K. Goldey, Brian and Daryl Price.
