June E. Johns

June E. Johns, 65, husband of Julia S. J. “Sue” Johns passed peacefully Sunday, October 15, 2017 at his home on Catnip Hill Road after a long illness. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky on November 28, 1951 to the late Stewart Johns and the late Willetta Chapman Hager. June worked as a Blaster for the Lexington Quarry, He was a devoted family man who was always kind and caring and loved spending time with his family. He had many friends all of whom he held dear. In addition to his wife he survived by five daughters, Annetta (Ray Wall) Johns, Jessica (Donald) Goforth, Pamela (Charles) King, Connie Hale and Maryann (Meril) Phillips and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a son, Frankie Peace, his brother, Stewart Johns Jr., and future son in law, Tom Estes. There will be a Memorial Gathering, Tuesday, November 7, 2017 in the Blue Building at City County Park from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. Betts & West Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Johns family.
