Julian "J.B." Banta

Julian Bascom “J.B.” Banta, 73, of Nicholasville, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022. He was born January 11, 1949, in Bourbon County, to the late Ray Banta and Virginia Redmon Banta. He worked in maintenance at the V.A. Medical Center and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He is survived by a brother, Phillip (Gayle) Banta, and a sister, Wanda (James) Simpson. Besides his parents, he is preceded by a brother, William Cecil Banta. Services will be 12:00 PM, Thursday, February 10, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor George Maloney officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Kevin Banta, Andrew Banta, Joshua Banta, and Harry Maloney. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Betts & West is honored to serve the Banta family in their time of need.
