Juanita Carol Perkins Garland

Carol Perkins Garland, 78, widow of George Franklin Garland, Jr. passed, Monday, August 14, 2017 at Diversicare of Nicholasville after a long illness. She was born on July 27, 1939 in Nicholasville, Kentucky to the late Robert C. and Ruth E. Broaddus Perkins. Carol attended the Nicholasville Christian Church and worked as a switchboard operator for many years. Survivors include two daughters, Dana Philpot and her husband Jule and Sherry Neergard and her husband Daryl and three grandchildren, Corey Neergard, Hanna and Chase Philpot and a brother, Bobby Perkins. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Tim Philpot officiating. Interment will be in the Richmond Cemetery. Bearers will be Jule Philpot, Chase Philpot, Mark Perkins, Jason Perkins, Brian Perkins and Steve Dean. The family would like to thank all the caregivers over the years at Diversicare. Contributions are suggested to the Southland Christian Church Children’s Backpack Program. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Betts and West Funeral Home.
