Joann Lemley

JoAnn Lemley, 90, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on June 28, 2021 and was welcomed by her sister Betty Swartzle in heaven. Born in Aurora, West Virginia on December 22, 1930 she loved nothing more than to share her love for the mountains and how she would love to return there one day. She served people very well and you couldn't walk into her house without being offered some type of food or drink. She was a lover of Kentucky basketball and being in the sun.

She is survived by her husband Jack Lemley, daughter Drema (Neil) Howard, and three grandkids, Kyle, Adam, and Toria Howard.

We would like to thank everyone who has taken care of Joann so well in the past 3 months. To the people at Meadowthorpe, thank you for loving and laughing with her constantly. She was always so happy to be spending time with you all. To the people at Hospice Care of the Bluegrass, thank you for making her—and all of us—as comfortable as possible for her last couple of days here.

The family will hold a private burial at Camp Nelson in the coming days. Thank you for your prayers for us as we say, "Farewell for now," to someone we love so very much.
