James R. Castano, 79, husband of Carolyn Sue Davis Castano, died Friday, July 7, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born on February 13, 1944, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to the late George Castano and the late Alice Sullivan Castano. He retired from the Lexington Police Department where he worked as a Detective and from the Jessamine County Ambulance Service. Survivors include a brother, Andrew George Castano, sisters, Linda Marie Berg and Anna Marie Castano, brother-in-law, Doug Davis, nieces, Emily Davis, and Opal Ann Castano, nephews, Peter Andreson, Mark Andreson, and Paul Andreson, great nieces, Aubree Sullivan, Dawson Davis and Samantha Andreson, great nephews, Greg, Noah, Eric, Caleb, Aidan and Colin Andreson. He was preceded in death by a niece, Ashley Sullivan. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 14, 2023, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Bales officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-8:00 PM, Thursday, July 13, 2023.
