James Philip Shearer

James Philip Shearer, 85, husband of Mary Louise Preston Shearer, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Franklin County. Survivors include five children, Linda (Ronald) Douglas of Midway, Susan (Kenny) Hatton of Scottsville, Phyllis (Rudy) Flannery of Nicholasville, Michael (Connie) Shearer of Nicholasville and Pam (Mike) Borders of Winchester, fifteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a sister in law, Pauline Holzer of Nicholasville. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Steven Moberg. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:30pm Friday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Mounts and Kenny Hatton officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as bearers. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Thursday. Donations are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass. Online guestbook at www.BettsandWestFuneralHome.com
