James English Robertson

James English Robertson, 89, husband of Barbara Jean Way Robertson, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022, at his home in Nicholasville. He was born December 2, 1932, in Sumter County, South Carolina, to the late Hovey Leonard Robertson and Ila Ruth Baker Robertson. He was a resident of Jessamine County since 2000, having relocated from Carroll County. His primary career was with Western Union in microwave communications, and after his retirement from there, he worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Carroll County and Jessamine County. He also served in the Air Force branch of the United States Military. In addition to Barbara, his wife of over 67 years, Jim is also survived by a daughter, Theresa Anita Robertson (Michael Petty), a son-in-law, James Marx, five grandchildren, Joel Christian Reed, Andrew Marx, Nicole Morton (Calvin Morton), Simone Marx, and Celine Marx, and four great-grandchildren, Luke Dean, Jenna Marx, Henry “CJ” Morton, and Nora Robertson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Yvonne Robertson Marx, his brothers, Leland Robertson (Earline), Marion Robertson (Carol), Charles Robertson (Carolyn), and Samuel Robertson, as well as his sisters, Annie Ruth Jacobs (Bill), Dorothy Nesbitt (Charles), and Juanita Newman (Elbert). Services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Gray officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be from 12:30 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Graveside services and Military Honors will be at 10:00 AM the following day, Monday, February 14, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
