Helen Elizabeth Davis Reed

Helen Elizabeth Davis Reed, 77, widow of Charles Howard Reed, died Sunday, June 28, 2009 at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was a retired Kroger employee. Survivors include a daughter, Juana (Mike) Bowman, four sons, Doug (Kathy) Reed, Bobby (Nancy) Reed, Kenny Reed and Jack (Sharon) Reed, all of Nicholasville, sixteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, four sisters, Barbara Kincaid, Mary Alice Vaughn, Patricia Leighty and Bonnie Stetler, two brothers Joe and George Ed McGrann, and a daughter in law, Jurline Reed, many other special family and friends. She was preceded in death by two sons, Ronnie and Edmond Reed , her namesake grandmother, Lizzie Davis and George and Inez McGrann and a brother, Cecil McGrann. Services will be 1:30 pm Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Barnes and Raymond Isaac officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Bearers will be Kenny, Raymond Lee, John, Scott, William Jr., Josh and Jimmy Reed and Richard Prather. Honorary Bearers will be Jack, Raymond and James Reed, Mike Bowman, Nelson Hager, Ray Sparks and David Underwood. Contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
