Nicholasville-Helen Cross Johns, 82, widow of Harold Johns, died December 25, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. Helen was a charter member of Brookside Baptist Church and with her husband operated Harold Johns Grocery for over forty years. Survivors include her children, Bobby (Teresa) Johns-IN, Sue Johns, Darrell Johns, Cindy (Larry) Overbay-all of Nicholasville and Charlotte (Stewart) Moss-Lancaster, grandchildren, Jenny Steuer, Matthew, Kasi and Katie Johns, Jonathan and Adam Overbay and Lauren Moss, great grandchildren, Molly, Eva and Lola, a brother in law, Billy Johns, two nieces, Sylvia Vineyard and Catherine Stinnett. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynda Johns. Services will be 1:00pm Tuesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. DeWayne Brewer officiating. She will be buried beside her husband at the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8pm Monday.
