Nicholasville-Harold Floyd, 74, husband of Norma Jean Floyd for 53 years, died November 8, 2008 at his home after a brief illness. He was a long time City of Nicholasville employee, retiring as the Superintendent of Public Works. He was born March 5, 1934, son of the late Bill and Beatrice Gill Floyd. Additional survivors include two sons, Shane Floyd and his wife Cathy, Terry Floyd and his wife Sharon, two daughters, Conya Floyd Morgan and her husband Ronnie, and Holly Floyd, seven grandchildren, Autumn McMillen, Shaylin and Farryn Floyd, Aleshia Barker, Andrea Morgan, Kyle and Kayla Floyd, six great grandchildren, Lane Morgan, Carter McMillen, Braylee Barker, Lauren Morgan, Taven Mattingly and Kaden Floyd. brothers Jimmy, Billy, Bobby and Ricky Floyd sisters, Louise Land, Betty Reynolds, Barbara Murphy, Judy Hager, Gayle Cheek and Joyce Denton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Floyd and a sister, Helen Dvorak. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Services will be 2:00pm Tuesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Bales and Dallas Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-9pm today. Bearers will be Billy, Bobby, Charlie, Paul and Kyle Floyd, Chris Fayne, Ronnie Morgan and Casey Bradshaw. Honorary bearers will be Dicky Fayne, Scott Nott, Ricky and Jimmy Floyd.
