Gladys Peel Carter

Gladys Peel Carter, 90, widow of Rufus Carter, formerly of Elm Fork Road, died May 18, 2008 after a brief illness. She was a member of the Elm Fork Christian Church. She was born August 17, 1917, daughter of the late Joe and Lizzie Comley Peel. Survivors include a brother, Shirley Peel-Lex., a sister, Victoria Stinnett-Nicholasville, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Hannah Gayhart, Arkie Bowman, Martha Perkins and Josephine Peel and brothers, Luther, Jord, Bob, Brutus, Rice, Carl and Elmer Peel. Services will be 11:00am Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Sholar officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8pm today.
