Ginastasia Newby

Ginastasia Newby, 29, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was born in Danville on May 3, 1993, to Marcus Yocum and Laverne Newby. She worked as an ambassador for Amazon Fulfillment in Lexington. In addition to her parents, Marcus and Laverne, left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Christy Nvunda Bidwaya; brothers, Darail Newby and Mark Newby; sister, April Newby; her partner and father of Christy, Yamafulowo Bidwaya; uncles, Sam Newby and June Newby; aunt, Rachael Newby; and cousins, Latrisha Newby and Destin Strauss. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 13, at Betts & West Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service, Monday, at the funeral home. Betts & West is honored to serve Gina and the Newby family in their time of need.
