Gertrude Marie Cobb Mulcahy, 96, widow of Charles E. Mulcahy, of Hunters Ferry Road, Nicholasville, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021. She was born in Jessamine County on July 16, 1925, to the late Fountain R. and Bertha Chaney Cobb. Gertrude was a long-time employee of the Jessamine County Board of Education, where she worked in the cafeteria. She was a life-long member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, a secretary of the Jessamine County Fair Board, a member of the Jessamine County 4-H Council, the Gideons Auxillary, and the 4-H Leader Sewing Club. She is survived by one daughter, Donna M. (Johnny “Frog”) Hager, two grandchildren, Anna Marie Hager and Robert Aaron Hager, two great-grandchildren, William C. Cheek and Aly (Anthony) Goodwin, two great-great-grandchildren, Dixie Goodwin and Nevaeh Blakeman. She was preceded in death by a grandson, John Michael Hager. Services will be 3:00 PM, Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Betts & West Funeral Home, with Pastor Michael Canada officiating. Burial will follow in Cobb Cemetery. Bearers will be Aaron Hager, William Cheek, Anthony Goodwin, Mike Hager, Jack Cooper, Johnny Tutt, Mark Goddard, and James Roy Hager.
