George Logan Jacobs Sr.

George Logan Jacobs Sr., 81, husband of Billie Elaine Jordan Jacobs, died Monday, October 4, 2010. He was born October 25, 1928 in Lexington, KY to the late Forrest Earl and Pearl Moore Jacobs. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, a member of Local 452 Plumbers and Pipefitters, the Token Club and was a World War II Navy Veteran. Additional survivors include his children and their spouses, Karen (Paul) Goldey-Nicholasville, George Logan (Marie) Jacobs Jr.-Lexington and Ronald Earl (Fredda) Jacobs-Harrodsburg, grandchildren, Brian Goldey, Nick (Kirstie) Jacobs, Scotty (Brittany Michael) Jacobs and Megan Jacobs, great grandchildren, Ashley Paul and George Goldey, many other family members. He was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Howard and a brother, Joe Jacobs. Services will be 11:30am Friday at Edgewood Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Sholar officiating. Burial will be in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00am-3:00pm and 5:00-9:00pm Thursday at Edgewood Baptist Church and from 10:00am until time of service Friday. Bearers will be Brian, Paul and George Goldey, Nick and Scotty Jacobs, Denny Grimmett, Scott Fuller, Mark Adams and Jeff Carter. Honorary Bearers will be the retired members of Local 452 Plumbers and Pipefitters, John Byars Sunday School Class, Van Brann, Clint Tucker and Don Johnson.
