George Coleman Goldey

George Coleman Goldey, 83, widower of his loving wife, Doris Jean Baber Goldey, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 from an extended illness. He was a native of Jessamine County, born February 22, 1933 to the late Shelby Jefferson and Allie Imogene Stephens Goldey. George was a Korean War US Army Veteran. He was retired from the Trane Co. where he was a press operator. George loved to fish, garden, mow and spend time with his large family. He was a member of Pinkard Baptist Church. Additional family survivors are four children, Brenda (Mike) Kestel, George (Julia) Goldey, Mike (Cheri) Goldey and Teresa (Gary) Scott, seventeen grandchildren, Shawn Kestel, Krissi (Ryan) Betterman, Jason (Jami) Goldey, Danny (Jessica) Goldey, Jacob Goldey, Kevin Weiss, Shelby Goldey, Kassie Mobley, Caleb Goldey, Jared Goldey, Micah Goldey, Brandon (Tasha) Woods, Joshua (Deana) Harness, Jennifer (Ben) Tucker, Jamie (Rob) Whitaker, Heather (Adam) Walton and Gary Scott II, twenty four great grandchildren, a brother, John Goldey, a sister, Ruth Ann Goldey and a special friend for many years, Judy Graham. George was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Coleman Goldey, a daughter, Sherry Jean Goldey, a grandson, David Ryan Goldey, a great grandson, Tristan Ryan Harness, seven siblings, William Goldey, Carrie Riley, Frank Goldey, Jim Goldey, Jean Goldey, Geneva Schmidt and Joe Goldey. Service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Larry Goldey officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Bearers will be Shawn Kestel, Jason Goldey, Danny Goldey, Jacob Goldey, Shelby Goldey, Caleb Goldey, Jared Goldey, Micah Goldey, Brandon Woods, Joshua Harness and Gary Scott II.
