Elizabeth "Maxine" Byrd

Elizabeth 'Maxine' Byrd, age 84, wife of Arza M. Byrd for 65 - years went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 20, 2013 at the Hospice Care Center. She was a member of Bethel Christian Church. She was born March 14, 1929, to the late Geneva Shyrock Houp. Other than her husband she is survived by three daughters and son -in- laws, Margaret and Johnny Brock, Brenda and Barry Waldrop and Barbara and Danny Smith, six grandchildren, Jason Todd Brock, Christy (Brian) Crawford, Lindsay (Brian) Garrett, Eric P. and Ryan M. Smith and Stefanie (Doug) Crosby four great-grandchildren Tanner Ray Crawford, Jacob Kyle Garrett, Olivia Carol Crosby and Sofia Elizabeth Crosby. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Byrd and a granddaughter, Lesley Anne Brock. Services will be 1:30 PM Monday, March 25, 2013 at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Bales officiating. Interment will be in the Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-9:00 PM. Bearers will be Jason Brock, Eric and Ryan Smith, Brian Crawford, Brian Garrett, Doug Crosby and Johnny Halderman. Honorary bearers will be Butch and Margaret Fugate, Elvina Cox, Martha and Dink Hager, Eugene and Kim Marcum, Becky Arvin, Cathy Floyd, Jesse Jackson, Jerry York, Rita Hardman, Linda Bailey, Janice Hannah, Ethel Wiggs and everyone she loved and who loved her.
