Dorothy Jean Simms Jenkins

Dorothy Jean Simms Jenkins, 71, wife of Robert D. Jenkins and widow of Kenneth Scott, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008. Dorothy was born December 25, 1936 in Woodford County, KY to the late Edward Forrest and Hallie Mae Preston Simms. She was a member of Clover Bottom Baptist Church. Additional survivors are three children, Kenneth Edward (Lisa) Scott, Sherry (Joe) Johnson and Bruce (Roberta) Scott-Nicholasville, three step sons, Jeff and Calvin Jenkins-Irvine and Todd Jenkins-Lexington, seven grandchildren, three step grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, two sisters, Peggy (Jackie) Young-Versailles, Linda (John Robert) Lowry-Nicholasville, a sister in law Lu Simms-Versailles and other family members. She was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Forrest Simms Jr.. Services will be 11:00 am Friday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Don Reed officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 5:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Bearers will be Calvin, Todd and Jeff Jenkins, Jordan and Chance Scott and A.J. Kelty.
