Doris Rose Lane Peel

Doris Rose Peel, 76, widow of Thomas Peel, died Saturday, December 26, 2009. She was retired from IBM in Lexington and was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. Doris was the daughter of the late Orear and Sallie Naylor Lane. Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Sherry and Mike Garrett and a son, Rodney Peel, her grandchildren, Michael -Mikey- Garrett and his fianc- Angela Evans, Kelsey Garrett, Shane (Amy) Powers, Dawn (Sherman) Jett, Raymond Thomas Peel and Caleb Peel, her great grandchildren, Alexia and Ayden Powers and a great granddaughter due in March.. She also leaves behind her best friend, Delphia Greene. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Powers Walker. Services will be 11:00 am Tuesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Scholar officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 until 9:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Active Pall Bearers are Mike Garrett, Michael -Mikey- Garrett, Shane Powers, Doug Fain, Sherman Jett and Bobby Powers. Honorary Pall Bearers are Leo and Kristy Garrett, Danny and Sonya Davis, April and Bobby Ritchey and Danelle and Ryan Owens. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery.
