Donald Laverne Akers

Donald Laverne Akers, 85, husband of Glenda Akers, died Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Ephriam McDowell Hospital in Danville, Kentucky. He was born in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late Everett Akers and the late Adis Stamper Akers. Donald worked as a salesman and was an Air Force Veteran. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, David L. (Cindy) Akers, two daughters, Jessica Ann Akers, and Tammy Michelle (Ryan) Wagner, 3 stepchildren, Laura (Stephen) Johns, Stewart (Laura) Crutchfield, and Lainie (Joe) Taylor, nine grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren, and several siblings. He was preceded in death by several siblings. The burial service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 2:30 PM at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
