Donald Douglas Arvin

Donald Douglas Arvin, 59, husband of Mary M. Cartwright Arvin, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 9, 2011 after a short illness. He was born September 9, 1951 in Jefferson County, KY to the late Marvin Jerry Arvin and Alice Marie Price Jaggers. He was a member of the Independent Church of God, retired from the U.S. Navy, belonged to F.R.A., DAV, The American Legion Association and was a KY Colonel. Additional survivors are a daughter, Marie Opal Arvin, a sister, Regina Singh and her husband Albert, four brothers, David Arvin, Jackie Jaggers and his wife Diana, Rickie Jaggers, Jerry Jaggers and his wife Mary, numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be 1:00 pm Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Bearers will be David Cartwright, Arnold Cramer, Larry Carmichael, Johnathon Prettyman, Kirby Burton and Jim Sexton.
