d. October 12, 2017

David Lee Tursany, beloved husband of Lori Anne Wiman Tursany, passed on his birthday to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, October 12, 2017 after a well fought and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Cincinnati, OH to the late Daniel Claude and Mattie Hannah Isaacs Tursany. He was a longtime employee and COO of Turner Labels in Nicholasville, a born again Christian and member of Jessamine Christian Church, an Army Veteran, a Kentucky Colonel, and an avid golfer who loved to play golf whenever he could. David is also survived by his beautiful daughter and light of his life, Davis Leanne Tursany, two brothers, Thomas (Faye) Tursany and Danny Tursany, numerous nieces and nephews, a very loyal and special friend Willard Scott who was by his side at the hospital almost every day, his mother-in-law Judy Rose who took extra special care of him, his brother-in-law Lee Steele who spent many nights with him at the hospital, many special co-workers (Brandi, Sherry, Paul, J.D. to name a few) who visited him regularly, his longtime friends Rob Baker, Jeff Waking, and Joe Sandknop who made his last three Friday nights extra special, James Dickey who brought him communion every Sunday, his boss, Stephen Turner, whom he thought the world of and who remained loyal by his side, Stephen's wife Missy Turner and their twins Austin and Riley who came to visit daily and drew him many special pictures, and Barb Turner, longtime employer and faithful friend. Many special thanks to the staff at Baptist Health (Central Baptist Hospital) for the amazing care, compassion, and friendships they gave to Dave during his 56 days there. To the Palliative Care and Hospice teams, his doctors, Dr. Terri Walling who was so compassionate and caring and keeping him pain free to the end, Dr. Sam Coy, for repairing his broken arm, Dr. Russell Eldridge, Oncologist, and especially Dr. Marta Hayne, Radiologist, for recognizing the terrible pain he was in and admitting him to the hospital, to the nurses Jo and Kathy whom he had an extra special connection, Katy, Patty, Jessica, Maria, Caleb, Tony, Alicia, Chiaki, and many other nurses whom he gave "stars", techs Kayla, Patti, Devon, Evelyn, Sarah, David (with whom he developed a special friendship) and many other techs whom he gave "stars" and made his days and nights comfortable, his special pharmacist friend, Brooke, who checked on him even when she didn't have to and made sure he had plenty of medicine when she was there, John Edwards, anesthesiologist and friend who checked on Dave daily after his arm surgery, visited him, and gave him, in his last week, two pain free arm days, special friend and Chaplin, Yoshi, for the long talks and comfort he gave Dave, and Volunteer Rachel from the "Acts of Kindness Club" at Lafayette High School who visited Dave and along with club members, made him a beautiful poster filled with hope and inspiration. Our family will be forever grateful. “We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8.
