Danny Lee Barnes

Danny Lee Barnes, 70, husband of Kyong Cha Barnes, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the V.A. Medical Center. He was born in Lexington on November 10, 1952, to the late Paul Alonza Barnes and Emma Jane Walters Bryant. He was a self-employed plumber as well as a veteran of the US Army. One of his passions that he spent much of his time on was beekeeping at his home on Beaumont Road. He is survived by his wife, Kyong; son, Daniel Kyo Barnes (Darlene Landrum Barnes); daughter, Jessica Sung Yi-Newsome (Kevin Newsome); brothers, Harlen Barnes, Jackie Barnes, Roy Barnes, and Ronnie Barnes; sisters, Gladys Hayes, Lisa Fulmer, and Angela Bryant; and grandchildren, Daniel Rader Barnes, Adriana Faith Barnes, Elizabeth Grace Barnes, Jacob Rylan Wood, and Milena Remi Wood. He is preceded in death by his brother, Joe Barnes. Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, November 13, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Dewayne Brewer officiating. Graveside and Military Services will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, where bearers will be Daniel Barnes, Kevin Newsome, Allen Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Greg Barnes, and Chris Barnes.
