Charles Victor Robinson

Charles “Victor” Robinson, 96, widower of Mary Imogene Bowman Robinson, passed away, Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Lexington Country Place. He was born on May 3, 1925 in Nicholasville, Kentucky to the late Clarence Robinson and Myrtle English Robinson. Victor was the Chief of the Fayette County Fire Department at the time of the merger with the Lexington Fire Department, becoming Battalion Chief and retiring as Assistant Chief. He served the Fire Dept. for 38 years. Victor was a WWII Army Veteran and received the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in France. He was awarded the Knight of the Legion of Honor medal by the French government in 2017. Victor was a Veterans Services volunteer and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a lifetime member of the Bethany Christian Church, serving as a Deacon, Elder and Board Member. Victor loved living at Richmond Place and served the community in various ways. Survivors include two children, V. Gene Robinson, and Karen Robinson, two granddaughters, Jamee Robinson and Ella Robinson, and two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Megan Muzzy. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Robinson Coffman, and Janice Robinson Wells. Services will be 12:00PM, Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Betts & West Funeral Home & West Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-8:00PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
