Charles Melvin Bowman

Charles Melvin Bowman, 92, husband of Dorothy Anderson Bowman, passed Wednesday, January 10, 2018. He was born January 1, 1926 in Wilmore to the late Charles Leonard and Dewey Mae Carter Bowman. Charles loved to farm, travel, and collect family picture albums. He was a member of Bethel Christian Church, ASC, Fair Board, and Farm Bureau. Additional survivors are four children, Nancy (Jimmy) Houp, Bobbye (Lewis) Stephens, Linda (Robbie) Mulcahy, and David Bowman, eight grandchildren, Duane Wilson, Steven Adam Wilson, Sonya Smith, Tonya (Ryan) Griffeth, Andrea Hall, Robbie Lyndon Mulcahy, Tori Bowman, and Josh Bowman, six great grandchildren, Chase Smith, Austin Griffeth, Madison Griffeth, Alan Griffeth, Jenny Hall, and Lyndon Mulcahy, and other family members. Charles was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Francis Guy and a brother, Raymond Bowman. Services will be 1:00 PM Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Bales officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Bearers will be Junior Upton, Chuck Bowman, Duane Wilson, Steven Adam Wilson, Josh Bowman, and Robbie Lyndon Mulcahy. Honorary Bearers will be Gordon Cobb, Lowell Duncan, Johnny Walker, William Leonard Guy, Arlis Jones, John Barber, and Bethel Board Members.
