Brutus Hill Stinnett

July 23, 1931 — August 6, 2011

Nicholasville-Brutus Hill Stinnett, 80, husband of 45 years to Catherine True Stinnett, of Kissing Ridge Road, died August 6, 2011 at his home after a brief illness. He was a farmer and former Nicholasville Police officer. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. Mr. Stinnett attended the Antioch Christian Church, was a native of Jessamine Co., son of the late Johnnie Luther Stinnett and Martha Josephine Grant Stinnett. Additional survivors include his children, Ronnie Stinnett, Cathy (Robert) Parsley, John (Jennifer) Stinnett, Brutus (Mary Jane) Stinnett Jr., and Nina Granger, grandchildren, Margaret, Jamie and Kyle Stinnett, Chris Stinnett Jr., Hunter and Shane Stinnett, Tommy and Brian Granger, Sara, Aaron and Eleia Stinnett, four great grandchildren, a brother, Rice Stinnett, three sisters, Jewell East, Rena Morris and Louise Graham. He was preceded in death by a son, Chris Stinnett, sisters Ozella Underwood and Opal Durham and a brother, Vernon Stinnett. Services will be 1:00pm Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Johns and Bro. Clint Hurt officiating. Burial will follow in the Mose Reynolds Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9pm Tuesday. Bearers will be Jamie Stinnett, Tommy and Brian Granger, Ronnie and John Stinnett and Roger Donahue. Honorary bearers will be Delbert Smith, Darrell Stinnett, Rick Hager, Elbert Turner and Danny Vineyard. Donations are suggested to Hospice or the church of one-s choice.
