Betty Sue Walker Carpenter

March 8, 1939 — February 9, 2016

Betty Sue Walker Carpenter, 76, wife of John V. Carpenter, passed away February 9, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Jessamine County on March 8, 1939 to the late George Gilbert and Hattie Cooley Walker. Betty was a member of the North Lexington Church of Christ, she loved to cook, travel and spend time with family. Betty is also survived by five children Diane Hall, Tim Hall and his partner Carlos Benavente, Audra (Jeff) Stotts, Heather Carpenter and Danny (Mary) Carpenter, six grandchildren, Sarah Morgan, George (Tabatha) Morgan, Cody Stotts, Caytlyn Stotts, Emma Carpenter and Ryan Carpenter, one great grandson, Gunnar Morgan and two sisters Elizabeth Moores and Henrietta (Shirley) Smith. She also leaves behind a host of other family members to mourn her passing. She is also preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. Funeral service will be conducted at 11AM Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Betts & West Funeral Home with Brother Steve Johnson and Brother Bart Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-9 PM Friday at the funeral home. Casket bearers will be David Moores, Kevin Moores, Jimmy Bowman, Joe Walker, Mike Carter, Gary Carter. Jeff Barnett will serve as an honorary bearer.
