Barbara Jean Watts Hardin

April 7, 1931 — April 14, 2011

Barbara Jean Watts Hardin, 80, of Foxwood Drive, died April 14, 2011. She attended First Assembly of God and was a retired employee of Brown & Williamson where she served as the first woman president of the AFI-CLO union. She was a native of Jessamine County, daughter of the late John Roy and Grace Marie Perrin Watts. Survivors include five children, Linda Reynolds, Judy Travis, Gayle Birchum (Ricky) McCammon, Faye Birchum (Dean) Chism and Rick (Shant-) Birchum, fifteen grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren, a sister Margie Stamper, two brothers, Kenneth Watts and John Roy Watts, her long time companion, John Wagers. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Sidney Birchum Jr., a grandchild and three great grandchildren. Services will be 2:00pm Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Moore. Visitation will be from 4-8pm Sunday. Bearers will be Adam and Shawn Tankersley, Rickey Birchum, Jonathan Baker, Nicholas Peters and Robert Birchum III.
