Asble "Dobber" Smith

Asble 'Dobber' Smith, 80, widower of Ethel Griffith Smith, died February 27, 2011 after a long illness. He was a retired employee of the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and was the son of the late Enoch and Juda Shepard Smith. Survivors include nine children, Linda (Lawrence) Mink, Joann (Ronald) Walker, Larry Smith, Eugene (Rebecca) Smith, Jimmy Smith, Enoch Smith, Betty (Stacy) Neff, Judy (Vernon) Smith and Sandy (Rocky) Smallwood, numerous grand and great grandchildren, a sister Cannie Campbell. He was also preceded in death by a son, Tommy Smith and son in law, Lawrence Mink. Services will be 2:00pm Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
