Ann Hunter Daugherty, widow of Charles W. Daugherty, died Saturday, November 12, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Nicholasville, KY, July 31, 1926 to the late Robert Manning and Malinda Schenk Hunter. Ann was a graduate of Nicholasville High School and Randolph Macon Woman-s College where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. During WWII she worked as a hospital volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital. She received a Master-s Degree in Education and a Rank 1 in Counseling from the University of Kentucky. She was employed by Jessamine County Schools, beginning in a one room schoolhouse and ending as the counselor at Jessamine County High School. After retiring she volunteered at Southland Christian Church and Jessamine County Schools with Operation Read, tutoring elementary students. Ann was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Clio Club, Jessamine County Retired Teachers, Jessamine County Historical Society, on the Jessamine County Adult Education Advisory Council and was in Donovan Scholars Program. She was a member of Southland Christian Church. She is survived by a son, Hunter (Susan) Daugherty, two daughters, Malinda (Daniel) Burton, Deborah (Clint) Stevens, ten grandchildren, Heath (Sue) Hamblen, Katie (Greg) Bodager, Laura (Aaron) Wright, Chris Williams, Casey (Arron) Duvall, Nicki (Brenton) Heller, Todd (Leah) Burton, Tara Stevens, Matthew Pritchett, Allison Stevens, twelve great grandchildren, a brother, James B. (Molly) Hunter, a nephew, James B. Hunter, a niece, Allison (Jeff) Brooks and a cousin, Madge (Ray) Burch. Memorial services will be Sunday at 7:00 pm at Betts & West Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm Sunday until time of service. Her family request donations in her memory be made to Lexington Clinic Foundation (for John D.
